Description

Raptor MARVN RUCKSACK was built based on an ARVN backpack known from the Vietnam War era. It is a simple one-compartment tactical backpack with a capacity of about 25 liters/6.6 gallons. Two side pockets 1.5 liters/51oz each, and top flap 3 liters/101oz. Perfect for both the active recreation in the mountains, on ski/bike, or as an everyday use bag. Both are reliable and functional thanks to laser-cut panels, allowing the attachment of additional pockets and pouches on the front and sides of the backpack.

It is going through almost the entire length of the pack. The main zipper allows free access to the entire contents. The top portion of the main compartment is accommodated with the string sinch system for sinching carrying load. With sewn near the front flap, it is possible to pack the whole equipment very easily inside the main compartment. On each side of the main compartment, we installed special cutouts for cables or water house. The backpack stiffened is an X frame that can be removed or replaced by another. The X frame is made of strong spring steel; it is accommodated with two 1" straps for adjusting the curvature; that curvature created by the user to his required angle can nicely fit the user's back or plate carrier. Inside the backpack is located a pocket that can also be used to transport documents and other flat items. On the internal back wall of the main chamber is a laser-cut panel that can accommodate any MOLLE pouch. Raptor MARVN RUCKSACK has two quite roomy pockets, to which access is on the front of the backpack; both pouches can easily accommodate M18 Claymore mine. Behind each pouch, we installed an additional compartment secured with the snap button for additional small items. Each pouch zipper portion can be secured with our toggle D-ring system to prevent accidental opening. The top flap is accommodated with an additional MOLLE and Chemlight pouch that allows the user to mark his bag.

A straightforward backpack-carrying system consists of wide suspenders filled with foam, trimmed with Cordura, and mesh spacing. Sufficiently thick and well-shaped to provide great comfort during use. Partially made with laminate allows also mounting on additional accessories such as radio or can secure elements of the hydration system. Suspenders are also convenient Fastex buckles for fast backpack take-off. The carrier system's last feature but quite an essential part of the carrier system is a fully removable chest strap for supporting a comfortable fit when the bag is heavily loaded. Raptor MARVN RUCKSACK has a standard handle at the top and external horizontal zipper access to the internals without opening the bag completely. Thanks to its construction, MARVN RUCKSACK can sit up high on the user's back, which increases the comfort of carrying a heavy load. Thanks to that option, the user has the freedom of movement and maneuvering; sitting up high has a significant space between the bottom of the backpack and the tactical belt.

Good and really disappointing at the same time.

It's a pretty good pack but suffers from all of the issues of the original ARVN design. I'd say this is definitely a step above SOTech's modernized ARVN in usability. Still, it kind of leaves a lot to be desired. Pros: - Very high quality materials (Fabric, laser cut molle). Feels extremely rugged and well made. - Tons of colors/patterns to choose from - Fits a lot more than you would think in the main compartment - Steel Frame Cons: - Excessive Molle (This is subjective) - Pack is way too short when it comes to vertical length. I understand this was modeled after the original ARVN pack, but the weird sizing greatly limits the practicality. I am about 5'10, and this pack feels like it only takes up half of my back. - Shoulder straps are about 4" too short. The buckles at the bottom of the straps sit right above my armpits, causing the plastic to dig in. Not comfortable for long periods or with a moderately heavy load. I don't see how this could possibly be worn over a plate carrier due to the strap length. - Hardware (buckles, plastic loops, etc) feel low quality. For the price of the pack, you would expect ITW Nexus Hardware. - QC: My pack was missing a zipper pull on the center compartment zip and one of the buckles was installed backwards from the factory. Suggestions and Improvements: - Make the shoulder straps removeable or make them significantly longer - Increase the vertical dimensions (make pack taller) so that it fits a normal human instead of a midget. - Use higher quality buckles/hardware

    Thicker padding on shoulder straps.

I absolutely love this pack, the only downfall is the padding on the shoulder straps. For one I’d make it a lil thicker and 2 I’d make them a little longer that way the buckles don’t drive into your shoulders or armpits so much.

    Raptor dooes it again

I never write reviews for products I've purchased. My opinions aren't worthless; if a company wants me to share my thoughts on a product, I should be compensated for taking the time to express them. This the the second time I've made an exception to this rule due to a company truely going above and beyond what we can currently expect in regards to quality and customer service. I own many Raptor Tactical products at this point. They're all well thought out and consistently of the highest quality materials and manufacturing tolerances one can expect. Their customer service has been nothing shy of fantastic with a clearly expressed drive to ensure my needs as a customer are met along with quick shipping to boot. The MARVN pack, my most recent Raptor Tactical purchase, was no exception to my prior experiences. The pack bridges the gap between an assault pack and 72 hour pack; maybe call it an extended assault pack. It has plenty of room for the essentials, plus a bit more room for sustainment and quality of life items. The stitching, materials and executions are flawless, and the price is a bargain considering it's US made by a Veteran owned company.
