At the heart of the system is a low-visibility, oxide-coated stainless steel quick-release shackle from KONG. Its oversized design allows for fast, intuitive disengagement from your belt or harness during emergencies. A swedged release pin—meeting SOCOM requirements—adds an extra layer of security by preventing unintended release, even if the retaining ring is compromised. The split ring itself is TIG welded for durability, while a Velcro-secured tab helps keep the release mechanism locked down until you need it.
The lanyard is constructed from a newly developed tubular webbing. This custom webbing uses an abrasion-resistant weave that significantly improves resistance to cuts and wear compared to standard 1" tubular webbing—making it ideal for harsh, high-contact environments.
Attachment is handled by the Kong Tango, a double-locking connector certified to NFPA 1983 (2017 edition) standards. T-rated and capable of withstanding up to 7,425 lbf (33 kN), it delivers dependable performance under heavy load.
